The theme for the 2020 Jemcon fashion contest is Under the Cherry Moon, in honor of native Minnesotan PRINCE. Design an outrageous fashion with a REVOLUTIONary vibe for everyone's favorite rock stars! This year, you may design for any of the women dolls, OR for Rio/Riot.
Set your mind free, baby, and be original! Prince would want it that way, rather than having anyone directly copy his or The Revolution’s outfits. (And you don’t have to limit yourself to the look of the film Under the Cherry Moon, either.)
Remember the design must be manageable to sew in small scale, which is needed for designs to be accepted.
Submit your designs on JemCon.rocks using the templates provided by December 1, 2019. Voting will happen in early December and the winner will be announced on or before December 20.
The fashion contest is open to everybody around the world!
Entries must be received by November 27, 2019 and submitted on either the official female figure template or male figure template, available on jemcon.rocks. They will be reviewed for originality, creativity and practicality for custom production. Each person is allowed two entries. You may submit one male and one female, two male, or two female designs. Both entries must be submitted together.
The JemCon fashion coordinator and JemCon chair will review all submissions and evaluate for originality, creativity, and ease of execution.
Finalists will be posted about a week after entries close. Voting is expected to open in early December.
Jem fans just like you do! While the JemCon fashion coordinator and JemCon chair decide which fashions make it into the finals, the winning fashion is decided on by a majority vote from the general public.
The winning fashion will be announced once all the votes have been counted.
The winning fashion designer will receive design credit and their very own custom made fashion. The fashion will be made available to JemCon 2020 attendees and supporting members of the 2020 convention.
By entering the contest you grant JemCon and all associated parties an indefinite, nontransferable license to use your design and derivatives of your design for promotional and fundraising purposes associated with JemCon. You understand that the winning design will have a limited edition fashion produced adapted from the submitted design and that this will be used as a promotional item for JemCon.
